Sylvia Hernandez Kauffman of Austin was appointed as the Inspector General for Health and Human Services on January 11, 2018. Previously, she served as the Principal Deputy Inspector General, as well as in other strategic leadership roles at the Office of Inspector General and at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
