After one-year leading AHIP’s public affairs team, Robert Traynham assumed a newly created role focused on sustaining and growing the association’s non-dues revenue portfolio, including agent and broker training, conferences and sponsorships. Robert and team will bring an integrated and disciplined approach to building AHIP’s business brand and maximizing net non-dues revenue.
Traynham comes to AHIP with decades of experience as a crisis communications expert, distinguished academic, and renowned television and radio personality. He has been a prominent political analyst on media outlets such as CNN and MSNBC and has also served as a communications and public affairs leader at the Bipartisan Policy Center, Wal-Mart, and Comcast.
Prior to his role at AHIP, Traynham served as a public affairs executive at Meta. Traynham is also a Professor and Fellow at Georgetown University. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cheyney University, a master’s degree in political communications from George Mason University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
